Byron Township is a township located in Cass County, Minnesota. As of the 2000 census, the township had a total population of 118.

Geography


According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 93.0 km² (35.9 mi²). 92.5 km² (35.7 mi²) of it is land and 0.5 km² (0.2 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.50% water.

Demographics


As of the census of 2000, there are 118 people, 48 households, and 33 families residing in the township. The population density is 1.3/km² (3.3/mi²). There are 59 housing units at an average density of 0.6/km² (1.7/mi²). The racial makeup of the township is 100.00% White, 0.00% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.00% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 48 households out of which 25.0% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 64.6% are married couples living together, 4.2% have a female householder with no husband present, and 29.2% are non-families. 27.1% of all households are made up of individuals and 10.4% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.46 and the average family size is 3.03. In the township the population is spread out with 22.0% under the age of 18, 4.2% from 18 to 24, 20.3% from 25 to 44, 36.4% from 45 to 64, and 16.9% who are 65 years of age or older. In the township the population is spread out with 29.0% under the age of 18, 9.0% from 18 to 24, 30.2% from 25 to 44, 20.9% from 45 to 64, and 10.9% who are 65 years of age or older.
