APGAR TEST

Specialty Definition: Apgar test

The Apgar test is made of 5 tests that a baby has to pass at one minute old and then at a five minutes old. The test consists of skin color, heart rate, breathing, muscle tone and response to a stimulation.

The test was developed by Dr. Virginia Apgar.
